When it comes to making dessert in the Crockpot you can’t go wrong with cherry pie! It’s the classic American dessert after all!
Slow cooker desserts are extra great because they’re so easy. You don’t have to hover around in the kitchen, heat up the whole house, spend hours working hard on something only too have it flop…this Crockpot cherry pie is super easy and comes out perfectly every time.
If you want to try out some other dessert recipes in your slow cooker I have a bunch for you to try! This lava cake is full of chocolatey peanut butter goodness, another great option are these cinnamon rolls…can you say super indulgent brunch?!

For those of you who want something for breakfast but still sweet and indulgent, try out this oatmeal recipe or our tasty monkey bread with cranberries! I love to make Crock Pot Apple Cobbler too, it’s a delicious fall treat.
What tools do I need to make this Crockpot cherry pie?
You will need a large slow cooker. I like a 6 quart slow cooker, they’re easy to use and clean and generally good for all kinds of recipes from soups and stews to dessert and even breakfast recipes!
Another item that I like to recommend to everyone…all the time…seriously they’re amazing, is these Crockpot liners. They make cleanup so easy and with something like pie, where there’s sugar involved, there’s likely to be a little burning around the edge.

Avoid having to do a lot of tough clean up when you are making baked type recipes or things like spaghetti or lasagna in the slow cooker!
Finally, you’ll need some dishes to serve up this tasty pie! I love these multipurpose plates for salads, desserts, and lunch. They’re stylish but also sturdy and easy to clean!
Ingredients needed for slow cooker cherry pie:
There’s only five ingredients in this entire recipe. That’s right, just five. You can keep almost all of them on hand indefinitely. The only “fresh” ingredients you’ll need are the refrigerated biscuits and the butter!

Everything else is either in your pantry right now or you can grab it in a can and have it ready to go whenever you want to make a sweet treat in the Crock pot.
You’ll need brown sugar, cinnamon, and pie filling…here’s a trick, you can use whatever flavor you like! If cherry is not your thing, don’t worry about it. You can make this delicious Crockpot pie recipe with any flavor of pie filling.

For those of you who are feeling even more ambitious try making your own pie filling if you have fresh fruit on hand. When summer rolls around I like to use whatever fresh fruit we have on hand to make pie filling for this recipe!
How to make easy crock pot cherry pie:
Spray your crock pot with cooking spray. You can also use a liner and then spray the inside of that to prevent sticking but also help make cleanup a breeze.
Cover the bottom of your crock pot with one of your packages of biscuits. If you are using a small crockpot you may need to do more layers so don’t worry if it doesn’t take them all for one layer!
In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter until it is just combined
Take half of your mixture and sprinkle over the top your biscuits. Make sure to use less if you are working with more layers!!

Cover evenly with half of your cherry pie filling…again if you are using a smaller crockpot be sure to dole out the filling evenly between all the layers!
Repeat your layers until you run out of ingredients! It’s usually about two layers in a 6 or 8 quart slow cooker. For smaller crockpots (which you can totally use) it will be more layers than that!
Cover and cook on high for 2 1/2 – 3 hours (it is done when your biscuits are golden brown).
