This easy appetizer recipe is perfect for parties, family gatherings, and other events where you need delicious finger foods! I’ve shared my parmesan garlic wings recipe and they are equally delicious.

If you are looking for a variety you can make both types and serve them together! It’s also really easy to make some of the wings into different flavors so everyone can have exactly what they want.

Where did chicken wings originate?

You might be wondering how chicken wings came to be…and how they become so popular that they’re something we miss when we can’t go out!

Though deep fried chicken has been a staple of Souther cuisine in the United States for decades, the peppery hot sauce coated wings began at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York in 1964.

It was a late night snack where leftover wings got coated in hot sauce and they were such a hit that they made a menu appearance and the rest..is history.

Here’s what you’ll need to make slow cooker lemon pepper garlic wings:

This recipe is really easy to make and it only has three ingredients so you can definitely whip these up on a moments notice.

You’ll need a can of lemon lime soda, some party wings, and lemon pepper seasoning! You can serve these with fresh cut celery, carrots, and ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.

I like to enjoy them as is but you can eat them however you like!

How to make lemon pepper wings in the slow cooker:

Turn the slow cooker on to the low setting. Rinse and pat dry wings.

Place wings into a slow cooker and pour soda over them.

Secure the lid and cook on low 3 or 4 hours or until the wings are no longer pink.

Preheat the oven to 350°. Using a slotted spoon, carefully, remove the wings from the slow cooker and drain the wings in a colander, allowing all the juice to drip off. Because the wings are very tender, they will easily fall apart, so be careful in this step.

Place drained wings onto a foil lined sheet pan. Sprinkle the wings on both sides with the lemon pepper seasoning. Be sure to cover completely. Bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes until crisp. Serve and enjoy!

Can I make these wings into other flavors?

If you want to make your wings into any other flavors you can do that before you sprinkle them with lemon pepper seasoning. You can sprinkle them with other seasonings, or leave them plain and add things like sauces after they crisp up in the oven.

The lemon lime flavor from the soda will be present mildly so keep that in mind when choosing your flavors!
