Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Share or Save for Later

These cookies should be World Famous by now. They are as American as Apple Pie, but even tastier. These are the kind of cookies that everyone screams for. Chewy, doughy, yet fully cooked. Lightly crisp on the outside. They even have the classic perfect cookie appearance on the top.

To explain, Professional bakers will even tell you that when a cookie has cracks in the top it is the sign of a perfect mix of ingredients, which makes the perfect cookie.

That is not just true for chocolate chip cookies, but all types of cookies. Ever since I was a young girl and beginning my baking phase, I remember having that explained to me, so I look at every type of cookie I make now.

This recipe is a no thrills recipe, just simple and basic. That is what makes it perfect. There is no need to refrigerate the dough, just a classic cookie, the way it was intended to be. Remember, the dough will look as though it is not quite fully cooked, but trust me it is!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I store these on my counter?

These can definitely be stored on the counter in a simple cookie jar. They can also be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will last up to 7 days, not that there will be any cookies left after that span of time.

            Can I freeze these cookies?

I have learned that I do need to double the batch when I make these cookies. This way, I will have some out, and still have some hidden in the freezer for when everyone eats them when I am not at home, but no one accepts responsibility.

Can I add nuts to the recipe?

I would have no problem adding some well chopped walnuts or pecans to the cookie dough.

Can I add other flavored chips?

You could use peanut butter chips instead, you could use white chocolate or you can use chopped up chocolate bars. Any way that you decide to add chips is your choice.
