How Do You Make Crockpot Chicken Wings?

You will whisk together all of the ingredients except for chicken wings in a large bowl.

Then add wings to the bowl and coat evenly with the mixture. Make sure you spray slow cooker with nonstick spray and add chicken wings.

Then it is just a matter of putting them in the crockpot.

Make SURE you spray your crockpot or use a crockpot liner or else you will have a big mess to try to scrub out.

Where Did Chicken Wings Originate?

Chicken wings that have been deep-fried are a long time noted cuisine of Southern cooking. Yet the concept of putting these deep-fried wings in a spicy hot sauce came about in 1964 in Buffalo, New York from the Anchor Bar.

When the co-owner Teressa Bellissimo made leftover wings in hot sauce for her son and their friends for a snack one very late night.

Since that time you can find ‘buffalo’ style chicken wings in a variety of flavors.

Most popular are your atomic, hot, or medium buffalo wings. But it doesn’t stop there. Garlic or Garlic-Parmesan, Honey BBQ, Lemon Pepper, and the list goes on and on.

What Size Crockpot Should I Use?

For this recipe, I would use a 7-quart crockpot. You may also want to use a crockpot liner which allows for less mess when it is time to clean up.

If you want to double a recipe to freeze a 10-quart crockpot may be more what you are looking for.

When is a Good Time to Have Wings in a Crockpot?

Wings can be wonderful for a Friday or Saturday night with a nice homemade pizza and a family movie night.

Wings are also great for any sports type party too. If you want to think out of the box for your next birthday party have a chicken wing bar.
