Where Did Chicken Wings Originate?
Chicken wings that have been deep-fried are a long time noted cuisine of Southern cooking. Yet the concept of putting these deep-fried wings in a spicy hot sauce came about in 1964 in Buffalo, New York from the Anchor Bar.
When the co-owner Teressa Bellissimo made leftover wings in hot sauce for her son and their friends for a snack one very late night.
Since that time you can find ‘buffalo’ style chicken wings in a variety of flavors.
Most popular are your atomic, hot, or medium buffalo wings. But it doesn’t stop there. Garlic or Garlic-Parmesan, Honey BBQ, Lemon Pepper, and the list goes on and on.
