I, for one, love the Alice Springs Chicken when we eat out at OutBack Steakhouse. This Chicken dish is rich in flavor, delectable and is actually very ebay to duplicate it at home.

The Chicken Breast is tender and juicy, covered in a honey mustard glaze, topped with melty cheese and crisp bacon pieces. The mushrooms bring this whole dish to another level and make for a mouth watering bite every time.

This is not a dish that one would imagine is easy to make at home, which is why it is one of the most popular dishes ordered at a Steakhouse. But friends, let me tell you this, you will no longer need to go out to a fancy place to get your favorite meal.

This recipe will allow you to eat the Famous Alice Springs Chicken whenever you want to.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I use thighs instead of Chicken Breast?

You most certainly could, but I do have to say that the White meat of the breast is the part that sets this dish above all others.

Can I leave off the mushrooms?

If you choose to do without the flavor of mushrooms go ahead. You will be missing out of a flavor avalanche that is irresistible. For the mushrooms, you can either use fresh mushrooms that you saute in butter, or just use canned or jarred mushrooms to save time.

Can I use different cheeses?

The Monterey Jack and Colby combination is the best flavor combination I have tested. It melts smoothly and tastes fabulous with the Chicken Breast and honey mustard glazing. I do admit many people will choose to use Cheddar instead. Provolone is a great substitute also.

How should this dish be stored?

Once cooled to room temperature, the Alice Springs Chicken should be placed into an airtight container and stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. You can freeze any leftover Alice Springs Chicken, however there may be a slight texture difference in the cheese when reheated.

How can I reheat the Alice Springs Chicken?

Preheat the oven to 325*, place the chicken in a baking dish and cover with aluminum foil. Heat to desired temperature, but do not overcook, as the chicken will become dry.
