Pecan Pie Balls

OMG I made these today, they are amazing!!! I will definitely make these again!

You can refrigerate it and see if that helps or you can add more crumbs.

These are SO addictive!! I made them rolled in powdered sugar. They turned out really yummy.

What do you need to make Pecan Pie Balls 

2 ½ cups pecans, toasted & chopped 

1 cup graham crackers, crushed 

1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed 

½ teaspoon salt 

2 tablespoons maple syrup 

¼ cup spiced rum or 2 tablespoons rum extract or almond extract and enough water to equal ¼ cup 

Melting chocolate 

Sea salt, corse or flaked for garnish 

Sprinkles 

How to make Pecan Pie Balls

FIRST STEP:

In a large bowl stir together pecans, graham crackers, salt, and brown sugar

Add in maple syrup, rum or extract mix, and vanilla

SECOND STEP:

Use your hands to mix until fully combined 

Form into balls, place on a parchment paper lined tray and freeze for 2 hours

THIRD STEP:

Serve as is or melt chocolate and dip balls in to cover completely 

Sprinkle with sea salt or sprinkles

FOURTH STEP:

Return chocolate covered balls to lined tray to set

This recipe is a little bit of work but you get great authentic restaurant-quality taquitos. So much better than the ones you can buy frozen. I’ve made this twice now and do not stray at all from the recipe. It’s perfect as written.
