Cherries Jubilee is a celebratory dessert made first in 1887 to celebrate Queen Victoria’s 50th year on the throne!

She had a great love of cherries and the French method of preserving them in sugar and brandy makes this delicious recipe truly shine.

I like to serve cherries jubilee over pound cake, with ice cream. You can serve it with pretty much anything and it’ll be amazing!

Waffles is another great choice, topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream…yum!

Making this slow cooker recipe for cherries jubilee is really simple. You’ll need some canned cherries in heavy syrup, dried cherries, sugar, orange juice, almond extract, cornstarch, and water.

How to make my slow cooker recipe for cherries jubilee:

Place the canned cherries, dried cherries, sugar, orange juice, and almond extract in the slow cooker.

Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4 hours.

Stir together the cornstarch and water. Pour into the slow cooker, switch the slow cooker to high, and continue cooking for 30 minutes or until thickened.

Serve over ice cream, pound cake, or with whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 (15 ounce) cans pitted sweet cherries in heavy syrup
  • ½ cup dried cherries
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 6 tablespoons water

Instructions

1. Place canned cherries, dried cherries, sugar, orange juice, and almond extract in the slow cooker.
2. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
