Why are we using soda in a chicken recipe?

Here’s the thing, when you put soda in the Crockpot for a bunch of hours it creates a delicious glaze. The sugars have time to break down and caramelize and the end results are fabulous!

Sprite adds a nice sweet and tangy kick to the final flavor that I think you’ll love! The finished Sprite chicken recipe is tender, juicy, and flavorful. You can use this delicious chicken in wraps, on salads, serve it over noodles or rice, and more. The possibilities are endless.

What do I need to make this tasty chicken recipe?

To make my easy sprite chicken you will need just a few simple ingredients. A few of which I’m sure you already have on hand!

Add some boneless skinless chicken breast, butter, Sprite, seasoned salt, parsley flakes, and garlic powder to the shopping list this week…that’s all we will be needing!

Thanks to the Crockpot there’s really not much work that needs to be done so I like to keep the shopping list simple as well. No need to complicate things by hunting down hard to find ingredients.

What size Crockpot should I use?

You can use anywhere from a medium sized crockpot to a large slow cooker. If you are doubling the recipe I’d definitely recommend a 5-6 quart slow cooker to make sure everything gets done properly.

This one works out fine in the casserole Crockpots as well if you have one of those! We’re not adding a ton of liquid or any bulky ingredients apart from the chicken so you don’t need quite as much depth for this recipe.
