Is it Hard to Make Crock Pot Oatmeal?

It is not hard to make crockpot oatmeal as long as you follow these tips.

First, make sure you ONLY USE steel-cut oats. If you substitute this important ingredient it just won’t work nor come out the same.

Secondly, it very important to either line or heavily grease the sides of your slow cooker before you start to make this recipe.

If you skip this step, the oats will stick to the sides and will be very difficult to remove.

How to Make Oatmeal in a Slow Cooker

The best part of this recipe is just how easy it is to make in your slow cooker. You will appreciate having a healthy morning meal to look forward to, and so will your kids because it tastes great!

In your slow cooker, you will add your oats, water, cider, apples, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt to greased or lined slow cooker crock and stir to combine.

Once you are done with that you will cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.

Your actual cooking time will vary depending on your slow cooker, so check for doneness after 5 hours and adjust cooking time accordingly.

When you get up in the morning you will want to have some fresh apples cut up so that you can serve your tasty breakfast.

To serve, allow the baked oatmeal to cool slightly before spooning into bowls and topping with fresh chopped apples, pecans, and some real maple syrup if desired.
